Having breast cancer sucks. Having breast cancer two times really sucks! The first time I was scared, the second time I was just mad. I was a 10 year survivor and thought I had it beat forever. I just wanted to have the darn things removed and get on with my life. When I told my surgeon this, she suggested I speak to a cosmetic surgeon about reconstruction before I made up my mind. She gave me a list with several names on it. One of the recommendations was Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery. I had never been to a cosmetic surgeon and I have to admit I had some preconceived ideas about what I would find when I got there. I couldn’t have been more surprised. From my very first visit I was impressed on how caring Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy are. They treated me like I was one of their family. These two fine young men are so passionate about their work and so eager to share their knowledge. I had just heard of DIEP Flap reconstruction from at nurse at SkyRidge Medical Center, but really did not know what the procedure involved. Both Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy spent considerable time explaining the process to me. They shared what to expect from the procedure and the healing afterwards. I was given a CD to take home to review and share with my family members. They also covered several other options for my consideration. I told them that I had an appointment with another cosmetic surgeon and they encouraged me to see him so I could make the right choice for me. After we left the office I cried with relief, I could not believe I had found doctors who really cared about me as a person, not just another case. I could not believe how compassionate they were and how different this was from my first experience 10 years ago. I did visit the second cosmetic surgeon and listened to his views on TRAM Flap versus DIEP Flap. Four months prior to this I had a spinal fusion and was still recovering. Since DIEP Flap doesn’t compromise the stomach muscles and TRAM Flap does, I felt that the DIEP Flap was the right choice. Also, using my own body fat for the reconstruction instead of implants just made more sense to me. Of course having a tummy tuck was a bonus I wasn’t going to refuse! The care I received by both doctors before and after surgery was remarkable. While I was in the hospital they were able to follow my progress through their cell phones. I always felt they knew exactly what was happening with me and if need be could be at the hospital right away. They also timed their hospital visits while I was awake and aware of what was going on. Was this procedure a walk in the park? Of course not this is major surgery, but it was far easier than I ever imagined. You are up and moving the day after surgery and you really do get to go home soon after. While there is some pain, it is more the tightness that you feel. This tightness slowly goes away and you begin to feel your life return to normal. It has been four months since my DIEP Flap and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. My breasts look and feel just like the real deal and my stomach hasn’t looked this good in years! If this sounds like I can’t say enough about Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy, you are right. I highly recommend the doctors and the DIEP Flap to anyone facing a mastectomy and reconstruction. I am 64 years old, married for 48 years, grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 5. Thanks to Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy, I plan to live a long time and look pretty darn good while doing it!"
This testimonial is a very emotional thing for me to commit to paper. I want people to hear my story though. I went for a routine mammogram never expecting to get news that would change my life. I was told that a lump was found in my right breast and that I would need to go for a biopsy. I received the news that I had CANCER the middle of August. It struck me like a thunderbolt. I then had a tough decision to make - lumpectomy or mastectomy. After talking to friends, family members, doctors, and after lots of internet research, I decided to opt for a double mastectomy with reconstruction, even though the cancer was in a very early stage (1A.) I chose this option because I didn’t want to wake up every morning wondering if this was the day the cancer would come back. Several of my friends who had lumpectomies, later had a recurrence of cancer.
With my husband, two children, and future son-in-law in tow, I went in for the surgery that would remove both breasts and give me implants instead. I woke up to a few new body changes. The cancer was removed and I didn’t have to have radiation or chemotherapy, but I do to take Anastrozole (Arimidex) for five years. It inhibits the production of estrogen. Later on, I had to have another surgery because the left implant was falling. After that, I was in and out of the hospital three more times in my home town for infections and fluid accumulation. On July 1, I had to have the left implant removed due to a life threatening infection. After I healed, my cosmetic surgeon said he didn’t know what else to do for me because my body rejected everything he tried. He suggested I investigate DIEP Flap surgery. The closest doctors who performed this surgery were in Denver, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Salt Lake City. I decided to go to Denver to Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery because the information on their website answered many of my questions and the qualifications of the doctors were impressive. I went for a consultation and after talking with Dr. Chris (Williams), I knew I wanted to proceed. Dr. Williams told me he thought my continued problems were in a large part related to the stress of my job. I was a Special Education teacher for behaviorally challenged kindergarten to third grade children.
After much soul searching, I decided to quit my job at the end of the school year, a job, I might add, I loved with all my heart. But my health came first and I knew that if I didn’t make this change, I would continue to have complications.
I went to Denver to Sky Ridge Hospital to remove the remaining implant and use my abdominal fat to do the reconstruction. Dr. Williams was at the hospital at midnight to check on me and again at 6:30 AM. I knew I was in good hands. I stayed in Denver 16 days so Dr. Williams could perform follow up exams and to be close if there were any complications. I had nipple reconstruction and some liposuction later on that year, and tattooing just after Christmas. I have not had any complications and am so very happy with the results. Dr. Chris and the staff of Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery were always available by phone (I live 7 hours from Denver) any time I had questions. I owe these people my life. I would recommend Dr. Williams and all of the staff at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery and DIEP Flap surgery for any cancer patient who is thinking of having implants. My resulting breasts look and feel like the breasts I was born with.
A cancer diagnosis certainly changes your life, but it doesn’t have to be a bad change. Hold on tight to family and friends and don’t be afraid to cry. Live day to day and have faith that things will get better.

Believe it or not, it’s been right at a year since I had my reconstruction. It’s easy to let time slip by with as busy as life seems these days. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to you all for making a really difficult time in my life end up a truly positive experience.
I’m a 10-year breast cancer survivor and underwent a left mastectomy, chemotherapy and reconstruction at M.D. Anderson when I was 31 years old. I received "standard of care" at the time and despite my pleas to remove both breasts, I was told that removal of the left breast was all that was warranted.
As time went on, I felt lop-sided, self conscious and incomplete. Several years went by and I got tested for the BRCA gene by my oncologist in Denver, the results were positive that I carried the gene. This necessitated the removal of the other breast to help ensure that I’d still be alive to care for my young daughter. Needless to say, I was freaked out at the thought of going through the procedure again and thought there was no way that the results would be symmetrical.
Then, I met you through my sister (also BRCA positive) and saw her reconstruction results – I seriously couldn’t believe how incredible she looked. You and your staff helped me go forward with my second mastectomy, reconstruction and revision of the first surgery with confidence and peace that I had not just "standard of care," but THE BEST CARE possible. The results are better than I could have ever imagined.
The commitment, professionalism and compassion of you and your staff are unsurpassed (and I say that as a medical rep of 15 years). Once again, I thank you for being the best.
I found out several years ago that I had the BRCA-1 genetic mutation, making me more likely to get breast and/or ovarian cancer. I did a great deal of research and soul searching before deciding, at the age of 42, to prophylactically remove my breasts and then have them reconstructed. The DIEP flap procedure seemed like a wonderful way to use my own tissue for the reconstruction, but very few doctors were trained in this procedure in Denver.
My breast surgeon recommended Dr. Jeremy Williams. She said that he was an expert in the DIEP flap procedure, and that the results she had seen were beautiful. My consult with Dr. Williams was so well done. He spent a long time with me, answering all of my questions, sharing his experiences, and making me feel at ease. My patient coordinator carefully explained the process, the billing, and potential insurance hurdles. Everyone in the office was kind, patient and nurturing - from the front desk to all the nurses in the back. During the initial surgery Dr. Jeremy and Dr. Chris kept my family apprised of my progress. When I encountered a complication after the surgery, both doctors were attentive and immediately determined the best course of action. The follow up was proactive, and I was encouraged to call or come into the office if I encountered any issues or had any questions. The follow-up procedures and care lasted about a year and a half. I just completed my final tattooing, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Jeremy Williams and his staff. They turned what was initially a scary and daunting process into a manageable and even pleasant outcome.
I came to Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery as a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient facing a double mastectomy. From my first phone call through my recovery, Dr. Chris and company have made this year completely stress free. Dr. Chris and his amazing nursing staff have helped me deal with and recover from my DIEP Flap and Chemotherapy. The DIEP Flap procedure gave me beautiful new breasts and a flat stomach. Dr. Chris has an incredible passion for his cancer patients and his knowledge, patience, and techniques are second to none.
I received a new body and have regained my confidence because of Dr. Chris and his team of nurses and support staff. I feel like Dr. Chris is Michelangelo and I was his canvas!! Thanks for making this breast cancer survivor whole again.
When I was diagnosed with a second breast cancer ten years after the first one, I was simultaneously shocked, angry, and sad. The first time, I had chosen to go the route of lumpectomy, radiation, and chemo. This time, I chose a double mastectomy, feeling like I couldn’t do this a third time. I researched my reconstruction options and had pretty much decided to do nothing…until I met with my surgeon. She directed me to the Drs. Williams and told me that I should at least check out my options since they were doing some pretty spectacular surgery.
From the moment I called, I was totally impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the staff. I was grateful as they juggled appointment times so that I could be seen quickly. As my husband and I met with Dr. Jeremy Williams, we immediately felt comfortable and hopeful for the first time in a number of weeks. We were impressed with his kindness, honesty, and his ability to explain the surgery he was proposing. He and his entire staff were so gracious and hope-instilling that it was impossible not to leave feeling positive, supported and excited to have found a reconstructive alternative that was reasonable to us.
I have had nothing but the most positive of experiences this past year as I’ve recovered from my DIEP Flap and subsequent surgeries. The warmth of each interaction has made my journey an easy one. I appreciate that, at each step, Dr. Jeremy Williams has made me feel that my recovery is the most important thing there is. I was sharing with him my last visit that I feel fabulous about the results of my surgery. I know that I could change clothes in a locker room quite easily without anyone even knowing that I chose a double mastectomy to fight my breast cancer. As a mother of two daughters, I am so grateful, not only for me, but also for them, that there is a surgery that maintains self-esteem and a sense of femininity and that Dr. Williams and the staff are dedicated to a medical practice that preserves this.
I lived with physical and mental pain every day for years after being treated for breast cancer. I began to accept that the pain I went through every day was normal. I told myself that being alive was more important than regaining the breasts that I lost.
At the time of my bilateral mastectomy, I chose reconstruction with silicone implants. Eight years later, on my 42nd birthday, I went to my family doctor in severe pain. After numerous tests, my doctor discovered that I had a ruptured silicone implant. My family doctor referred me to Dr. Christopher Williams and Dr. Jeremy Williams for a consultation.
Dr. Christopher Williams and his wonderful staff educated me about all of my reconstructive options, including DIEP Flap reconstruction. Soon afterwards, Dr. Christopher Williams and Dr. Jeremy Williams performed the DIEP Flap reconstruction surgery. The pre-and post- surgical support from both doctors and the entire staff at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery provided was phenomenal.
Words cannot express the gratitude I feel regarding the amazing gift Dr. Christopher Williams and Dr. Jeremy Williams have given me through the DIEP Flap reconstruction procedure. Because of the transformation they have given me, I now look forward to each new day. I am no longer in pain, and I feel amazing every time I look in the mirror at myself and see a beautiful "whole" woman looking back.
No words can ever explain how grateful I am to Dr. Christopher Williams and his staff. It has been one year and one week since Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy performed the DIEP Flap surgery. During my surgery, my family was kept well informed on my condition. Not only were they taking care of me, but they were also taking care of my family by keeping them up to speed hourly regarding my status.
My case came from breast cancer followed by radiation. I had a rare, adverse reaction to the radiation which left my left breast hard, swollen and very painful. My Medical Oncologist recommended I have both breasts removed and advised me to see Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy. I met Dr. Chris shortly after. He told me I was going to be a true challenge because of the radiated skin. Dr. Chris recommended the DIEP Flap procedure. I now know he was right. The care I received before and after my surgery has been amazing. Dr. Chris dealt with me as if I were his only patient, at least that’s how it felt to me. I remember after my surgery, I got acellulitis in my breast. I called his office and he called me personally. Not many doctors will do that.
Before my surgery, Dr. Chris told my husband and I that he would be able to follow my progress throughout the night on his cell phone. My husband told me throughout my first night in the hospital, if something didn’t seem right, Dr. Chris would call the nurse to see what was going on. In June of this year, I underwent nipple reconstruction. That made me feel truly complete. During my last visit with Dr. Chris, he asked me if I would do this again, and I thought "yes." I am now pain free and feel and look amazing. I would recommend Dr. Chris and Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery to anyone who needs breast reconstruction. I now drive 5 ½ hours to Dr. Williams, and I know I would drive further if needed.
After having a digital mammogram and two biopsies in my left breast, I was diagnosed with "In situ Carcinoma". My cancer was stage "0" because of the early detection. However, since I had to have a biopsy in two different areas of my left breast, a lumpectomy would not have left my breast intact.
After talking with my breast surgeon and oncologist, and my husband, I made the decision to have a bilateral mastectomy as I did not want to take the chance of cancer occurring in my right breast at some future date. After making that decision, I was referred to Dr. Jeremy Williams and Dr. Christopher Williams at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery.
From the moment I walked into Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery, I know I was in the right place. The first time I met Dr. Jeremy Williams, I was impressed with his expertise in breast reconstruction and also his mission to allow a woman who is faced with a mastectomy to look and feel normal after such a radical surgery. I had a DIEP Flap reconstruction, which used tissues from my abdomen to form new breasts. From the moment of surgery throughout the recovery process, I had the best of care from Dr. Jeremy Williams and Dr. Christopher Williams and their entire staff at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery. During my follow-up surgeries, again, I had the best of care. My husband was present at almost all of my appointments and was made to feel welcome and comfortable as well.
I am very pleased with my results and I would not hesitate to refer the doctors and staff at Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery to anyone who is faced with breast cancer and the decision to have breast reconstruction surgery.
There are not enough accolades to give to Dr. Williams. I have had extensive medical care and surgeries and have seen quite a few doctors for consultations and care. Dr. Williams is the best doctor of all the doctors I have seen, not only from the perspective of his "bedside" manner, but also because he does such superior work.
his staff are warm and caring. Then I met Dr. Williams and he made me feel very comfortable. He is a very good listener, very professional and very knowledgeable. He also was very honest with me and explained to me what he could do and not do. I really appreciated his honesty.
